A great day of challenge for many unsuspecting participants of City Chase Seattle today. We were invited to contribute a station, so we built a “floor is lava” course through a section of Freeway Park, having teams of two utilize controlled descents, climbs, and quadrupedie to reach their goal. Over one hundred people successfully navigated the abrasive concrete without injury, helping each other in good spirits and with admirable determination–and with plenty of true-felt encouragement from our energetic volunteer coaches. It was truly inspiring to see so many of varying age (from early twenties to sixty) and athleticism (triathletes and stay-at-home moms) tear the course apart–and it was certainly no easy feat! Congratulations to all who came through; those scrapes and bruises are well earned.
Special thanks to Brian, Cory, Kelly, and Matt for excellent work guiding and supporting participants; we couldn’t have done it without you!
