Curriculum 8/25: Walls and Gaps

 

 

For this week, we will be looking at walls and gaps.  Our walls lesson will center on applied tic tacs, our gaps lesson will focus on tight spaces, and our combination will be about running cat leaps.  It’s backwards rotation week for our freerunning classes.

PKV weekly curriculum 8/11: Obstacle coursing

Hello, PKV students.  It’s obstacle coursing week again!  We will have a series of preset courses built in the gym, with lessons centered around building your parkour vision and developing a feel for multiple paths.  Hope to see you soon!

PKV Curriculum 8/4: Gaps and small obstacles

 

For this week, we will be focusing on gaps and small obstacles.  Our first lesson will focus on all the techniques that deal with gaps between rails (precisions, underbars, laches, etc.).  Our second lesson will deal with vaults in terraced territory, working our way up or down in steps.  Our third lesson will be centered on vaults either immediately before, immediately after, or defining the edges of gaps.

7/28 Curriculum: Deep focus

 

Hello, everyone!  For this week, we will be focusing on flat ground and walls, and each lesson will contain a deep focus on some particular aspect of parkour.  Our first lesson will be centered around long, realistic parkour runs.  Our second lesson will be about building symmetry and power with our pop vaults.  Our third lesson will teach dismounts from high walls and what happens after.

Curriculum 6/2: Gaps and Flat Ground

This week’s themes are gaps and flat ground.  The first lesson will focus entirely on gaps between rails, covering a coach’s choice of bar movements.  The second lesson will focus on teaching strides and plyo/box jumps in fast courses with objects shorter than 18”.  The third will focus on roof gaps and running descents (vertical gaps between flat surfaces).

Curriculum 5/5: Obstacle coursing week!

For this week, we’re returning to our every-other-month-ish obstacle coursing classes!  There will be three brand-new courses in the gym for all classes Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, and three even brander-newer ones for Thursday through Sunday.  Students will run all three courses under supervision in addition to our regular warm ups, conditioning, drills, and games.  See you soon!
