Join Our Board!

Parkour Visions is looking for people in the Portland and Seattle areas to join our board of directors! We are especially seeking people with experience in fundraising, advocacy, technology, fiscal management, and education/teaching (in schools), but enthusiastically welcome anyone, with any background, who is passionate about our mission and work.

About Parkour Visions Board of Directors

The role of the Parkour Visions Board of Directors is to ensure our mission—helping people overcoming barriers through movement and play—is carried out in an inclusive, responsible, and ethical way. We are playful and professional; committed to learning and growing together as we take on difficult conversations and unique challenges in our organization and community.

Currently, our board is composed of community leaders from Seattle and Portland (meet them here). We are of different ages, races, sexual orientations, and professional backgrounds.

What is involved?

  • 5–10 hours a month: On average, board members give about ten hours of volunteer time a month. This includes quarterly board meetings and monthly committee meetings that run 1.5-2 hours each. Members often also serve as volunteers during our community events!

  • 3-year term: A board member’s term is three years, with a three-term limit.

Currently, our board meetings are virtual. We aim for an annual in-person board retreat in Washington or Oregon state.

What are we currently up to?

Our board is undertaking a community-driven strategic planning process to develop key performance metrics and milestones as our Seattle and Portland branches expand. We also have scheduled discussions around gender and anti-racism in parkour/youth recreation. We regularly have introspective conversations about how to be more effective, inclusive, and impactful.
