Covid Update Follow-up

We’ve updated our mask policy for adult and teen students. Effective Friday, March 11:

  • Masks are now optional for outdoor adult classes. When indoors, adults are still required to wear N95, KN95, or KF94 masks.*

  • Youth students in our kids and teen classes are still required to wear masks (and strongly encouraged to wear a KN95 or KF94).

  • Coaches will continue wearing an N95, KN95, or KF94 mask while teaching both youth and adult classes.

  • In addition to our existing vaccination requirement, coaches are also required to stay updated on their boosters.

* Coaches will continue to carry extra masks for adults who don’t have them.

In January, we updated our masking and vaccine policies after Covid case numbers skyrocketed. The community adapted quickly, and we received an overwhelming amount of positive feedback:

“I am writing to just applaud you right now. ...I am sooo impressed that you are taking this step! Thank you. It's not easy to do in the face of possible backlash, but it is such a simple way to protect each other. Thank you for doing the right thing. All the best to you.”

“Thank you for this amazing email and policy. It makes me love you and want to become a full time parkour enthusiast.”

“Thank you for all of your diligence. I know this is a tough time for everyone and we really appreciate what you’re doing to keep kids and staff safe.”

We appreciate the solidarity. Infections and quarantines due to exposure have been incredibly disruptive to our organization. We’re lucky to be able to train outdoors, and we’re lucky to have highly breathable, highly protective masks when we need them.

The pandemic is not over. Covid deaths are still 10 times higher than seasonal respiratory illnesses. While we are hoping for the best, we know the next variant may be worse than the last. We will continue keeping an eye on Covid metrics and update you if anything changes.
