We’re Opening a New Branch in Portland!

We're excited to announce that we are working with Forge Parkour to open a new Parkour Visions branch in Portland, including summer camps and other outdoor parkour programs.

Late last year, a few Portland community members contacted us. They wanted to create a PKV-like nonprofit in Portland, and we began to talk about how to make this possible.

In January, Forge announced that they would be closing their gym. They have faced many hardships caused by Covid closures in the past year, with no clear timeline on when the pandemic might end. More Forge folks were soon looped into talks with PKV to help figure out how to bring PKV programs to Portland. We decided opening a new branch of Parkour Visions would be the best route to continue serving the community after Forge closed.

Parkour Visions brings a tried-and-true approach to outdoor parkour classes. Since losing our gym over three years ago, we've created a thriving outdoor parkour community. Our programs serve hundreds of students of all ages, including low-income youth, people with disabilities, women, and LGBTQ+.

Portland has all the foundations for outdoor programming: unique and wonderful parks, a large parkour community, and motivated leaders. In the coming months, we'll be working with the Forge team to schedule summer camps, hire a PKV Portland team, fundraise, and more.

We will miss the Forge gym more than we can even express. We have been friends with the Forge team for years, and we feel dejected to see it go. We promise to work with the Portland community to help keep the spirit of Forge alive.
