Mid-Year Organizational Update 2023

Parkour Visions Executive Director Transition

After three years as executive director, Cordelia Hollingsworth informed the board that they would be stepping down from their position to pursue other career opportunities. We are grateful to Cordelia as they led the organization during a time of immense change and transition. Cordelia utilized their experience as a PKV student, coach, and program director to help us return to our roots and pursue greater community impact as the nation’s first parkour-focused nonprofit.

The Board is starting a search for a new Executive Director. They appointed our Communications Director, Rebecca Brightly, to the role of Interim Executive Director, and our Development Director, Garrett Plescow-Moore, to the role of Interim Operations Director.

Mid-Year Organizational Update

In the winter and spring seasons, we hit a deep financial crunch by scheduling far more programming than we had the funding for. In response to the funding shortfall, we immediately scaled back summer programming and have planned for a streamlined fall schedule. While we are not yet out of the woods, we have a plan to stabilize and continue high-quality classes.

PKV leadership has developed new programmatic and financial plans to give our coaches the support they need to do their best work. We are already seeing great results with fun and productive summer camps for nearly 900 students. And our summer jams have seen over 50 participants so far.

Parkour Visions remains focused on our mission of helping people overcome barriers through movement and play. While we have reduced some programs, we look forward to growing sustainably by: building an emergency fund to withstand the dynamic market of outdoor instruction; committing to programming that will consistently raise revenue; and providing the best possible work environment for our staff and volunteers. This focused approach to organizational health will ensure PKV can share lifelong healthy movement with students for another 15 years and beyond.
